Erica Cole enters the Shark Tank to pitch her company, No Limbits in Season 13, episode 1318. The company designs clothing for those with disabilities. Does she strike a deal? Who is she and what is her story?
Life
Erica Cole currently resides in Iowa City, Iowa. She is the Founder of No Limbits.
Education
She attended the University of Iowa and received her Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry in 2019 according to LinkedIn.
Career
Erica began her career at the University of Notre Dame in 2017 as a summer intern. She then moved onto the Los Alamos National Laboratory and University of Iowa.
Erica then took part in the Target Incubator Fellow for 3 months in Minnesota. “The Target Incubator is a three-month program geared toward early stage startups with a vision for making life better.”
In January 2019, she founded No Limbits. It is described as a, “ready to wear adaptive clothing line with the mission of increasing comfort, confidence, and independence in those who struggle with clothing due to a disability,” according to her official LinkedIn.
Her Inspiration
Erica started her company after becoming an amputee in a car accident. As she started to get used to her new life, she realized that she didn’t have many wardrobe choices. The only clothing she was wearing were shorts or sweatpants.
After discovering clothing that can work for her and fit over her prosthesis, she wanted to help others with disabilities as well. That’s when she created No Limbits.
She began a Kickstarter campaign. It shows she received 221 backers pledging $14,236 to help bring the project to life.
