Achal Patel and Russell Gong are good friends and thought it would be a good idea to partner up for a business in health! They knew something had to be done with the billions of pounds of plastic waste coming from over the counter medications. You probably want to know more about these two dynamic founders. Let’s learn!
1. Achal Patel went to the University of Virginia where he studied Foreign Affairs, History, and Pre-Health. It appears he was some type of pre-med student but didn’t continue his studies in medical school. Even though he did not go to medical school he did volunteer in a medical type program as a program coordinator for Physicians for Peace. In his career experience he worked as a consultant for Deloitte Consulting for five years, then as a fellow for “Unreasonable” for 5 months. After that in 2018 he co-founded Cabinet Health.
2. Achal is a third generation medicine maker. According to their Instagram, here is the story of how that came to be, “While most kids spent summers at camp, Achal spent time at his grandfather’s acetaminophen factory in India. Born and raised in a medicine supply chain, healthcare is all about family for Achal.”
3. Achal is also a dog lover and a foodie. You can see his cutie pie tan shaggy dog in the third picture in the carousel above.
4. Russell Gong is the co-founder and President of Cabinet. He studied at the University of Richmond receiving his degree in Political Science, Latin American and Iberian Studies. This was quickly followed by graduate studies at MIT taking the Executive Program in Artificial Intelligence in Business.
5. Russell Gong was an army officer. He was born in Singapore but raised internationally in multiple locations.
